What's on your list?

Wow, its been a whole year of book club! We've read some great books and a few duds but its been lots of fun none the less. This month's meeting was to review and discuss "The next thing on my list". General premise of this book is she finishes a list for someone else of things they wanted to do before 25. I liked this book a lot till the end, I laughed, I cried and then I was like what!? It didn't all come together in the end how I wanted it to. After we discussed the book we went to see the movie, "My sister's keeper." It was a book we read this year. So moving, cried through most of it. Another book we read is comming out in August, "The time traverlor's wife".

Its become a book club tradition to pick a great restaurant to discuss our books over great food.
Here's the group at ZIO's in bricktown.

Also a tradition to get a fabulous dessert or two to share, this is appropriately called and Oreo mountain. So yummy!!

It was interesting concept to consider a life list of things you want to accomplish. So here's what I came up with for mine so far, whats on yours?
  • Visit Greece
  • Camp at Yellow Stone National Park
  • See waves at North Shore Hawaii during time of season they are so crazy high
  • Snorkel Great Barrier Reef
  • Go to cooking classes
  • Go sailing
  • Complete a 1/2 marathon.
  • Go on a mission trip to Africa
  • Write a book
  • Grow out hair to give to locks of love or another place that takes hair to make wigs.
  • Take my kids to Disney World

I'm sure I will think of more...

Well rested and ready.

We've had a good rest of our week home. Thursday we enjoyed massages and an afternoon movie together. Friday I went with my nieces to white water, followed by shopping and eating at the mall with Amy and Saturday I enjoyed a cookout and pool party with friends, while Ryan visited Friday and Saturday with his grandpa in Wetumka. Then Saturday evening we had a last minute change of firework watching due to thunderstorms in the area. We had a indoor picnic at my house till it blew over and then went to UCO. Tomorrow back to work, its been a fun time off! We are really excited Ryan is starting his new job in a couple weeks which will mean regular working hours for him, no more 60-80 hour work weeks and frequent traveling. So exciting for us! I feel well rested and ready to start again. Work week here I come!

Best Buddies, by that I mean the boys and their I-Phones:

Mission Accomplished.

We'll I set out about 6-7 weeks ago to run a 5k. At the time I couldn't even run hardly a quarter of mile. Even in training I only had gotten up to running about a mile and half but something came thru on race day to push myself to run the full 3 mile race. In the world of running this is such a small distance, but in my little world it felt like a really big accomplishment, I even surprised myself and felt super excited!

Here's us before the race. It was a night run which I enjoy, I'm not into the morning running thing.

These are my tired feet after, I learned early on in strating to run, the shoes can make all the difference:

The office

Well in the midst of re-decorating the living room. I also moved into new office at work. Its pretty much my dream office space and I just love it. Plus now I am officilly right next door to A.M. and closser to the printer!

Like a haircut...

Well what a girl I am. After living with the yellow for a couple weeks, I am now loving the yellow. I've decided its like a drastic haricut, you might cry at first and its so different your not sure but by the 2nd or 3rd week your loving it! I can always re-paint down the line for re-sale since yellow's not everyone's cup of tea but for now its here stay here's a video tour if you'd like to see for yourself:

The anatomy of a bad decesion...

Well the roller coaster continues. I finished painting the living room after working on it almost all weekend and every night since then and I do not love it, yea I don't even like it and my stomach is turning at thought of all the work its going to take to re-paint it but I don't think I can live with this color. So I find myself doing some self talk to re-group reminding myself its just paint and it can be fixed, everyone makes mistakes and there are much much worse things in life. So I keep coming back to how did I make this mistake? For two years I've been wanting to do a shade of yellow but somewhere I took a wrong turn just haven't figured out where, I would like to find out so I can avoid such a bad choice again but at last examining the anatomy of this decision has revealed no point I even considered not following through with this plan. Sometimes it just happens.

Allie and Chloe are staying the night and I just have to laugh when I asked 6 year old Allie what she thought, she sweetly said, "Well its not people's favorite color but it matches well". It might "match" but its not my favorite color either, back to the drawing board!
