Grateful for Great Friends!

I had a great weekend! I was reminded of something I am very grateful for which are those lifetime friendships that are so deep and so cherished that while life takes its ups and downs, twists and turns they are those constants. In thinking about this I was reminded one wonderful thing God does for us is place people in our lives for a purpose. I love how He takes care of us in a number of ways but I know I often take them for granted. I tried to be aware and appreciative of just at least one of these ways this weekend!

You can probably see my excitement in my face that LB got to come stay with us! We have a long history of our family being friends. In fact the reason we are so close is our dad's were best buds from college. I love how we can always just pick up where we left off rather its a few weeks or a few years since we've seen each other. We had such a good time, never seems long enough but we enjoyed every minute of it:

Saturday I enjoyed two of my favorite summer things both for the first time this summer with one of my best buds. We got yummy snow cones and then lounged by the pool and of course enjoyed lots of good girl talk:

I had to include this picture of me and one of my other favorite pals in our matching outfits on Sunday morning (PS I paid an obscene amount for my hair cut and color this week, but I really like it!):

P.S.
(Wendy I thought of you too this weekend because I was thinking how our friendship is like that too, we can always pic up where we left off. I almost can't remember a time we weren't friends, as far as my memory goes back there was you! I love that! We fought over those B.A. youth group boys and now we are all old and we each married one! :0)
I couldn't do a post on friends and not give a shout out to Amy! Among millions of other things, my roomie for 5 years! Come to think of it Ryan still hasn't passed you yet!
***Disclaimer: This is by no means my only friendships I am grateful for just a few that I was reflecting on this weekend or had reminders or contact with***
Its easy to see the negative, the stress, all those things that are driving you crazy in your day to day life, I am going to try to increase thoughtfulness about things I am grateful for that often gets over shadowed by my preoccupation with those other things. I reminded of that verses: Set you mind on things above. So stay tuned for some future posts to include other things I am grateful for.
